Zat Elias is a seasoned and pioneering men’s work facilitator with more than 30 years of experience in meditation, embodiment, breathwork, movement, relational practice, and spiritual teaching. He is the founder of Men’s Wisdom Work and the lead facilitator of the Fire in the Belly Men’s Retreat.
For more than 25 years, Zat has dedicated his life to men’s deep inner work, men’s groups, and the men’s growth movement. Through his retreats, programs, trainings, and international teaching, his work has reached thousands of men around the world.
His formal education, certifications, and training include:
◆ A Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica
◆ Three certifications in teaching traditional Buddhist meditation
◆ Certifications in Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and Tantra Yoga
◆ Certification as an NLP practitioner
◆ For more than 25 years, Zat has studied and practiced under the guidance of Buddhist teacher and scholar Pema Khandro Rinpoche.
◆ Deep training in Jungian shadow work, nervous system regulation, somatic practice, relational communication, and masculine and feminine dynamics
◆ Extensive in-person training with David Deida and Michaela Boehm
Zat has also created pioneering programs dedicated to the depth and continued development of men’s work:
◆ The Men’s Coach Training, a six-month intensive built around his original 17-module curriculum in the art and practice of men’s work
◆ The New Masculine Program, created in 2014 to bring men into an embodied experience of the mature masculine, not simply as an abstract philosophy, but as a lived reality
His mission is to challenge men to become more authentic, empowered, activated, and compassionate, and to live with greater self trust, an open heart, and a grounded way of being.
At the heart of Zat’s work is a commitment to helping men stop looking outside themselves for permission to be who they are. Fire in the Belly brings together the depth of his experience, training, and personal practice to create a powerful, highly facilitated space where men can confront what has been running their lives, heal what continues to hold them back, and begin to embody the men they know themselves capable of becoming.
